Phillips Rainforest Hike and 4X4 Safari

Come join us on this half day of discovery and intrigue to our islands less populated "wilder side". After picking you up from your starting point in our specially modified 4X4 Land Rover we will then drive you along the windswept Windward coast road to Phillips Village, 8 miles from Basseterre. From here we would travel up into our hill farmers gardens at Phillips mountain, a place of unusual vegetable production and exotic fruit orchards, to eventually arrive at the trail head.
After arriving at the start of our hiking trail, situated in a intriguing hill farmers garden, we will then take you on a two hour jungle hike by following a looped trail into one of the islands most beautiful rainforested mountain valleys, known as Christ Church Ghaut.

This lushly forested valley includes a freshwater spring, where you can have a refreshing dip, in the cool and mineral free water found here. Possibly discover along the way, our Green Monkeys in their natural habitat, the shy Brown Mongoose, Giant Halliconia Flowers of four different varities, Cocoa Trees and up to three different types of beautiful Hummingbirds.
With the award winning interpretive skills and our one of a kind 4X4 Land Rover to tour you in, this hiking adventure into the cool heights above Phillips Village, will leave you with a sense of fascination for our islands rural life and unique natural treasures. |
